Offline Methods to Create a Icon,

1. Launch Microsoft Paint.

2. Open the image you want to convert to icon format by clicking the “Paint” toolbar tab and selecting “Open.”

3. Click the “Paint” tab, highlight the “Save As” option and select the “BMP picture” option.

4. Enter a file name for the icon and type “.ico” (without quotations) as the file extension. Select your preferred output folder for the icon and click “Save.”

Apply the Icon Image

1. Right-click the desktop icon you want to change and select the “Properties” option from the context menu.

2. Click the “Customize” tab in the Properties dialog box and then click the “Change Icon” button. Click the “Browse” button, navigate through your folders and select the icon image you created in Paint. Click “OK.”

3. Click the “Apply” button to save the image as the desktop icon and then click “OK” to exit the Properties dialog box.
